ok, my starrett #98, 12" came today. it's nice BUT the calibration system is really dumb on such a precision tool. it's basically the same as adjusting the valves on my 1962, 235 Chevy with solid lifters. i got it done but what a PITA... when you tighten the set-nut, it changes the calibration even when holding the adjustment nut in position -which btw is not easy to do-... the only good thing is that i don't have to adjust my level, hot like my truck motor...
