New Pool Table by Southern Legacy

I purchased a new pool table from a local wholesaler. I think I got a good deal based on the research I have been doing.
The manufacturer is Southern Legacy Billiards. The website is http://www.southernlegacybilliards.com/ Note this is not Legacy Billards that I have been hearing negative things about. Southern Legacy is located in Texas. I purchased the mahogany madison model for $1800.00 including delivery and set up. An Excalibur Supreme Pool Accessory Kit. (retail 250.00) was included in the deal. To my untrained eye and info i have on tables, this seems to be of excellent quality.
Has anyone set up or worked on any of these tables and know first hand the quallity and durability? What is the retail price for this table?
Any info would be appreciated. Wanting to know if I made a wise choice.

These tables have been around for a long time... Although you may view the table as being a different name brand it really isn't. Its just branded by a different distributor. I will never tell anyone they got burned after a purchase was made but honestly if it were my money I would have chose a nice used table for equal to or less money.

These tables in particular are manufactured in China and are most commonly branded under the name DLT Billiards. They are by far one of the better Chinese tables but it still lacks a lot of qualities you'll find in an economical American Made table.

look familiar???

You are the one who determines if you made the right decision. If you are satisfied with what you purchased then yes, you did. If you are doubting yourself then you probably will be kicking yourself further down the road. Good luck with your table. Is it installed? Do you have any pictures?

I dont mind if someone tells me I am getting burned on any type of purchase I make. I am thick skinned and can take the honest critisism.

A little background...I had a cheap sears made honeycomb table I purchased for 50 bucks back in 1992. The felt was rotten and worn, the rails were damaged by ringed water staining from drinks placed atop, the apron was worn. I got it re-felted for about 100.00. I spraypainted the top rails with black plasiticoat paint and re applied the sites with white round stickers from office depot. I applied woodgrain contact paper to the apron. I tightened and reinforced the frame. I played that table and moved it to our current home. It got plenty of use and played severaly times a week. Finally I sold it six months ago for 200 bucks. It was still playing good for a cheap reconditioned sears table..lol. Typically the balls would roll when bumped or leaned on.

The new table is like night and day. It is not one of those knock down tables. The cabnet was delivered fully assembled as one piece. I did ask the installer about the table. He could not tell me much as he recently aquired the contract from the dealer to install this brand and it was his 3rd table. From what he could tell so far it appears to be a quality table, albeit not a olhausen or brunswick. It will be adult played only as there are no pre teen and younger kids in the house. I looked at the Olhausen santa anna model which is similar in looks and style. Price from local dealer starts at high 3000.00 range and goes up from there. That was out of my price range.

I looked as some used tables, many of which were wood veneers or worse. The cost of moving, set up, refelting, etc. increased the prices to what I got this table for.

I will be moving in 4-5 years when daughter starts college and the table stays with the house. In my future home, I plan on a billiard room and maybe then my next table will be an upgrade.
Information I am looking for is any problems with this particular table I need to look out for and what I can do to prevent them and make it last as long as possible.

Pictures are a good idea! I will take some photos when I get home this evening and post them.
