is there a trick to quickly breaking in the threads of new shafts? i just recieved a new one and its REAL tight. i remember when the cue was new it took a couple weeks to loosen up to a point to where i didnt risk getting blisters on my hand from installing it and removing it:eek: . can i put some butter or something on this thing?

absolutely no butter.
Just love the fact that it is nice and tight!
Buy a BAR of Dove bath soap (it is the most gentle).
rub it on the threads (lightly dont gunk them up).
the screw it together once or twice.

If the shaft is tight I like to use a paste carnauba car wax. Soap will hold moisture. Wax will not. Just do not use to much.

Spray wax for wood tables, i.e. pleadge or endust. Spray some on the pin and screw it together. If it's still tight do it again the next day and so on until it's the way you like it. Just once a day so it sets. Carnuba wax works also but it may go on a little heavey and can force a crack in the joint or ring work. Be carefull very light coat each day until it's where you want it.
