New Resource to Find/Compare Custom Cuemaker

Hello fellow AZers. I would appreciate your assistance. I've built a links page on my website, Pool Student's Blog, to identify custom cuemakers. In it I list 22 pieces of information about each cuemaker (data comes from them) in addition to their name and a link to their site. Some data is missing from some cuemakers because I changed the questionnaire after learning better questions to ask, and some answered the 1st one. I'm awaiting the remaining info and will fill in the blanks when I get it. Don't hold it against them, it was my fault.

So far I only have 32 cuemakers represented, but I have contacted over 200 others and will add their data as I receive it. If you know (or are) a cuemaker not on the list, I encourage you to send me the info. Cuemakers must have a website to be included, but it could be a shared site, or a dealer site if they don't have their own.

I would appreciate it if you would take a look and provide me feedback on how it could be improved. Think of this page as only the 1st iteration. Don't be afraid to make a criticism, I have thick skin and am genuinely interested in building the best resource I can, and I know I don't have all the answers.

I know that there are a couple of display bugs. I'm working on them but since they didn't interfere with the usability I went ahead and published. I'll fix them when/if I learn how.

Keep in mind that there isn't enough room to just add a bunch of additional fields, unless I create a table that scrolls right and left and users do not like scrolling horizontally.

So if there is better, more useful data, which field would you recommend that I eliminate to make room for it?

I looked at it but could not figure out how to fill out the info and submit it.
If I missed it explain here how to do it. You really need a way for cuemakers to answer those questions so you can post them up from the site.

Sorry for any confusion. There is no functionality for users to be able to update the table. This is on purpose, so that I have some control over the quality of the data. I wouldn't want someone to anonymously be able to change the data for anyone they wished at their whim, and I imagine that the cuemakers will appreciate that as well.

By dealing directly with the cuemakers themselves, through their websites and email, I can keep the table up to date and maintain data integrity at the same time. The volume of changes should be low enough for me to easily keep up with.

You have pointed out a glaring omission on my part though, namely that I need to clarify this information on the web page. I'll be doing that immediately after posting this reply to you.

Cuemakers can contact me via email, but it needs to be the same email they use for contact info on their website. Otherwise I can't be sure who sent the email.

I think your site is first class work. It is extensive, has been researched patiently and I've seen nothing like it anywhere. Hats off to you, grampa

That is some site you have put together. I have one comment. In the players section I wish you would put them in alphabetical order by last names and not first names.

I was not saying allow someone to submit info that would automatically be posted. But to only had the questionaire on line so they can submit it to you then you can do with it as you please.
 
Deadgearplyr & Macguy, thanks for the compliments. I'm working hard to make Pool Student's Blog the best place I can make it. It's nice to know I'm getting there. I hope the new Cuemakers page is of use.

Cueman, OK, I get it now. Sometimes I'm a little thick. I'll look into how to put up a download button on the page so that a prospective cuemaker can initiate the process of getting on to the table. Thanks for clarifying.

Hey guys, I've added a map of all the locations, so you could find a cuemaker near you.

I'm up to 49 cuemakers. Please encourage your favorite cuemaker to send me his data.

I have only been providing cues to the general public for sale for about 8 years not the 40 listed. I have been building my own cues and modifying them for over 40 years but only formally as a business for about 8. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression when I filled out you info questions.
