New Revo Shaft won’t fit Predator LE4 butt.

Not a typing error. The original 3/8x10 joint screws are rolled thread with a .281 minor. Just so happen to work gread for the modified with a 5/16" hole.
Go figure!

If you have a shaft with radial threads, and tap it 3/8x10,
Why can you thread it on to either screw.
Beats the snot out of me, but it does
I'm missing something here in your communication. You stated you use a .281 tap but your bore the hole to .312 The tap is smaller than your bore

The minor is but not the tap.
I always say,
I don't know everything but I'm trying to
Have a nice day!

I use a 5/16" reamer
For 3/8x10 modified, i use a tap I had Widell make for the regular 3/8x10
It's a .281x10.
Works perfect for the modified in a 5/16" hole. I also use a sealer after tapped then tap it again when dried.

BLO with bullseye sanding sealer. 5 to 1 mix
I know minor and major diameters, but please explain what you are telling us above. Sure the 5/16 reamer aids in opening up the phenolic tell us what you are doing with this special tap .281 Maybe your wording was incorrect No one uses a tap the same diameter as the minor of the pin, nor will a .281 tap do anything in a .312 hole
Maybe you meant a .281 hole for your 3/8-10 tap that would work, then ream it with the 5/16
I'm not trying to argue with anyone, i'm trying to learn something here. The tip about the blo and sealer was good +
