New Ring Game

New to me anyway, maybe you cats have played this before!

Tempe, AZ...usually, its four or five guys playing a race to five for $20 a head. Today, they said we're playing the "Scotch Ring Game". We had eight players. Scotch meaning each player on the team takes one shot, then the next player on the team goes. Anyway, works like this. We had eight players. Everybody flips a coin at the start of each game. All the heads are on one team, all the tails are on the other team. You play nine ball, scotch style. Here's the kicker. If it's four heads vs. four tails, then it's ten bucks per person. No problem. If it's three on five, the people on the five team are playing for ten bucks a head. But the people on the "three" team are playing for a total of fifty bucks. Therefore, if "three" wins, it's $17, $17, $16. IF IT'S ONE ON SEVEN, THE PEOPLE ON THE SEVEN TEAM EACH PLAY FOR TEN BUCKS A HEAD, BUT THE ONE PERSON PLAYING AGAINST THE SEVEN HAS TO PAY $70 IF HE LOSES!!!! If he wins, he wins $70!. It's new teams every game (based on the coin flips). But if you're down, you wanna go alone (1 vs. 7) to try to win big cash on one game, but you could also lose big cash on one game, and you might not even get to the table!!

Anybody else ever heard of this game? It's new to me. Within 20 minutes I was down $110. I ended up losing $20 after about two hours. It's intense, but fun!

Come one, come all. There's even an ATM right inside the poolroom if you go bust!

Happy Turkey Day to all the poolplayers out there, and to all the US troops protecting our freedom!

Sounds like some decent action, less of course someone would rather play some one-pocket.
3 questions -
How did you determine who broke?

Once determined, how did a team decide who broke?

Then, how did a team determine the order of its players?

Ok i was lost on the rules off the bat..But if u let me i'll come out and play ....

I'm sure anyone can play in that ring game. I haven't gone up there because they play in the day time, and I'm a working stiff who comes out at night, but I wish someone would come out here. Action is dead. There aren't a whole lot of us that will play, but there are a few.
