Hi,

I purchased a new 3/8x10 shaft and the hole isn't quite deep enough for my pin. Any recommendations on how to properly make it deeper?

Thx!

Use a drill.
Sorry, just couldn't help myself.
It just popped out.

Now for the simple and easy fix, take it to a cue repairman who should be able to fix it correctly in a few minutes.

Good luck with your repair,

I have a cue companion lathe and a 3/8x10 tap. Is it just as simple as retapping deeper or should I drill the hole deeper first then retap?

With a cue companion lathe and a decent depth gauge, I would measure the depth of the hole against the length of the pin. If you are unsure if you need to drill the hole deeper, make sure the shaft in running concentric and run the tap in first. If that don't do it then drill the hole deeper and re-tap.

Hope that helps,
Alan

it's all about foreplay. just kidding, actually wondering what cue and shaft you use for the mismatch, its unusual.
