I am new in this sport and need some info. If a second shaft is purchased, such as a predator, is it possible to get the new shaft and the butt joint to match
Buy a blank from Predator or a retailer. They don't have a joint or collar, and a cuemaker can take it and fit matching collars, ring work, etc to the shaft. They'll also make sure they joints align correctly. Blanks typically go for around $160.

And if you have a custom cue (even if you aren't the original owner), most cuemakers will build you a shaft for it. Just contact the cuemaker who built your cue.
