A friend of mine who is a custom cue builder here in the St. Louis area has designed a new jump cue. I have 1 of 3 made.
I saw his when I was at his house and said "what in the heck is that" he said "that's a jump cue I make" and I said "mind if I try it out". He has his own table so I gave it a go.
I cannot believe how easy it is to get over a ball with this thing. The whole tip assembly is phenolic (spelling) and the mass at the grip end make for jumping effortless. The grip end design is very close to the grip size of my shooting cue, which means I don't have to change my grip to use the jump cue.
Here is a picture.
