What would you dedicate your time to next year in the process of improving your game. Here is what I will do.
1. I will run 1000 racks which, at the rate of 20 per day, 5 days a week would take 10 weeks, so I'll give myself 12 weeks. I will break as usual and fix any clusters...then take BIH.
2. I will keep a WRITTEN LOG of the reasons I failed to run out...assorted in the following categories.
A. Dogged a makable shot and what TYPE of shot assorted by
a. cut with outside eng.
b. cut with inside eng.
c. cut with OB near a rail
d. cut with OB frozen to rail.
B. Missed position leaving a tough cut or "wrong way" position route.
a. CB took unintended path
b. CB rolled too long/short
I may add a category or two but don't want to make logging too cumbersome.
The object will be to create a "matrix" of Most Often Missed Shot Types and I will then spend a TON of time working on those shots. I think that improving the Most Missed by 50% would provide the most leveraged way to improve overall.
For example, if the Most Missed = 50% of total misses and I improve those by 50%, then I will reduce total misses to 25%. Conversely, if I improve a shot that = 10% of misses by the same 50% then I reduce total misses by only 5%...so there is 5-1 leverage in working on the Most Missed.
But if my Total Misses are evenly distributed across the entire matrix...then I will have no choice other than to take another lesson with Allison or Scott Lee! (-:
Any other ideas?
Regards,
Jim
