It certainly looks original. I've got 4 of them and they certainly look similar. Two of mine are the 87 series, 87-14 and 87-4. Both of them have the white phenolic joint. My 86 series has a stainless joint. The 87 series were made in Japan when Helmstetter moved the operation. They are very nice cues and play well. I play with my 87-14 all the time.
