You stationed at Bragg I assume? My best friend's brother is stationed there as well. Not sure about pool rooms, but I would bet he knows where the good beer is in the town.

I will drop him a line and ask around for you,

You're in a great pool area with some great players. Here a link for the Jacoby Tour. You should be able to get your feet wet here.

I don't know about Fayetteville, but in Raleigh, you can try The Brass Tap, Babineau's, Brown's Billiards, Katies, or Mojo's in Apex, NC. There are others in the Raleigh area as well, but that should get you started.

Of course! Fat Daddy's is near the mall in Fayetteville. They recover their tables every January and have a nice, open atmosphere. Not much action there, but a good place to practice.

There is another place that is a private club... that is quite nice... I believe it is on the opposite end of the street leading to the gates of the base, on the right-hand side. Oh, Players Billiards is the name, at 4549 Raeford Rd. The Shark Tank is nice also. Should have action at both of those rooms.

The guys out there got a little heated at me when I caromed the 8 off of another ball and into the pocket (even though I had called it)... so make sure you check the rules, just to be sure!! They wanted the 8 to be pocketed "clean".

Here in Puerto Rico, they all play 'Last Pocket' 8 ball, which becomes a horribly mastrubatory game, usually ending with both players shooting on the 8 a dozen times. I hate that!!

players and fat daddy's both suck. bad tables, bad cloth, bad atmosphere.

little reno on eastern blvd (301) is in a rough part of town, but by far the best room in town. one gold crown, older diamonds, etc. you can usually find some kind of game here, 9 ball and one hole.

tournaments... all bar-box
sunday - sparkys, big apple 10pm
tuesday - last call (?), mickeys ($200 1st, $100 2nd), big apple 9ball 10pm
wednesday - victoria's (?)
thursday - last call, spirits (8pm?), the office, all pro (?), louie's (?)
friday/saturday - yellow rose (?)

(?) -- Not sure if it still exists.. Also, all these tournaments start at 9 unless I noted otherwise

lee's lounge has a tournament as well.. I forget what night.

if you're looking for a game, send me a PM. i am looking for some one hole or bar box action.

Katie's is under new ownership - it is now called Play 2 Win Billiards. The new owner is Robert Ray. The name may sound familiar to some of you - he finished 2nd at the Masters earlier this year.

I knew Robert bought it...didn't know he changed the name.
Knowing Robert, I suspect there will be a little action in there on a fairly regular basis.
