I get so jealous of the east coast. It seems every weekend there is a $1000 - $5000 added event somewhere along the east coast. I WANT A DECENT TOUR IN THE WEST!!! IN CANADA and the northwestern United States. I know we have the Pechauer tour, but as far as i know there is only one even in Canada from that tour. I know we used to have a Canadian tour, I've seen a tour card from the 90's. I wanna get maybe an 8-12 stop tour going here. Here are a few tournament locations i was thinking about.
1 in Victoria or Vancouver Island area.
2 in the Greater Vancouver Area, Bank shot and Guys and Dolls Maybe?
1 In Kamloops at executive.
1 in Kelowna at Breakers
1 in Northern BC maybe Prince George
1 in calgary
1 in Edmonton or whatever other Albertan city is a good pool city
2 in the US maybe 1 in Seattle and one in Bellingham (sorry i couldn't think of anything better)
Anyone think that a tour like this could get off the ground?
Anyone wanna help... I honestly think that we could get a tour going with the right sponsorships. It would be very simple to set up a basic TV table with 3 or so cameras. Even low end cameras now have a very good picture on them. I figure $3000 - $5000 invested on that might bring in a small return. With 1 overhead camera, one maybe from the side and one freeroaming guy it could be done easily. I'm not talking about putting it on TV, just setting up a TV table to sell tapes and DVD's. My Production cost on a DVD is about $2, maybe a little less. If i could sell these tapes at around $15 USD if a had a few High Caliber players. BTW i really don't have a financial interest in it, its more to do with the interest in the sport. Any other great ideas??
BTW the video editing part is really simple, i don't need anyhelp with that. With three cameras i could do all the editing by myself after and send it out for someone to do the commentary. I have software and a fairly decent video editing setup. Hell i wouldn't even need a tele prompter (is that what the thing for drawing on the TV is called?) i could add the drawing of lines and things after the commentary was done.
