ok, last night i put my Jacoby Shaft on the Nova Butt, and the Nova Shaft on the Jacoby Butt. they both seemed to fit ok, the Nova Shaft on the Jacoby Butt did seem a better fit for some reason.

just wondering if there is any reason why a guy couldnt interchange these and play with them? i assume if i buy a Predator Shaft it would therefore fit both cues?

MANY people will argue that the way a cue plays can be found in the first 18 inches of the shaft. After that, it's all asthetics. There have been claims that the butt of a cue has some effect on this (see Predator 2). I'm certain weight and balance will play a roll in terms of comfort but in terms of accuracy, that should be found in the shaft alone.

It is important to have a perfectly fitted joint so sticking with what's intended will always serve to your advantage and if it doesn't fit quite right, it will affect the hit. If you're getting a Predator Shaft for a cue other than Predator, you might want to consider seeking out the maker of the cue to see if they'd be willing to convert a 314-blank. Some cue-makers like Lucasi offer this as an option which only increases the probability that you'll have a snug fit.

the threading can be the same, but the shaft might not
necesssarily fit, depending on the size of the insert on
the shaft, if there is one. You can always file down the
insert or have it turned down on a lathe though
