NY 3 Cushion

Is there a place in NY where a beginner to intermediate can get into a 3 cushion billiards tourney in NY. I know carom cafe is like the billiards mecca but i really dont feel like getting embaressed by miguel and the boys my first time out. I was looking for some other beginner to intermediates who enjoy the game.

Every Sat morning at 10 am in Carom Cafe there is a weekly tournament hosted by either David, Charlie or Mike. The entry fee is only $25. It is a handicapped tournament. The players are randomly mixed into groups of 4 to play a round of round robin games. So you will definitely play 3 games for the money.

Also, there are plenty of people around who will play friendly games with you. If Mike Kang, Young Lee or Ming Jae are not busy, they are all very kind to give free intro lessons. You only have to pay your own table time. People are extremely friendly there.
