ob 3/8 10 joint

I like how the OB shafts play in general, and I think they are great with 3/8x10 threads. That is also the pins/threads OB cues use on their newer cues.

Personally I think the 3/8x10 joint is a soft hitting joint. The OB itself is also soft, when pair together, it's a real mushy hit in my opinion.

It has a lot to do with the everest tip that is stock on an OB. At the end of the day, it's all personal preference.

That being said I never liked the deadish hit of an OB1, and when I had an OB2 added to my carolina, it was a bit of a hassle to adjust. (I got it on a trade, and I wanted to try 11.75 LD).

I switched the tip with a Tiger Hard layered tip and that did the justice for me. It ends up hitting like a good medium to medium hard tip.

So in short, if you like a super soft hit, that is the combo for you. I would suggest that if you're a fine cutting/super english player.

Well I added a ob-1 to some cheap eBay cue I bought with a 3/8x10 pin and it plays fine. Feed back is less to be desired and the everest tip isn't my favorite. It took some adjusting for it to play the way I like it to. OB seems to make a good cue all around so there shouldn't be an issue in buying or playing with one.

I'm about to buy one myself, just not sure which ones (ob1, ob2, classic pro and pro) but im more leaning towards the 11.75 mm shafts. I guess the question now is which ones have a better feedback when you made a shot..also what is the difference between a soft quiet hit and the firm crisp hit?

I have the pleasure of playing in a room that has a supply store attached to it. When I was in the process of trying out the ob products the demo ob-1 played fantastic. So I went with the ob-1. Mine didn't play anything near the demo. Looking back I should have gotten the classic. Hits firmer and plays just a bit better.

i have several ob 1 shafts of different joint sizes to fit butts from different makers with different joint types and pins
among them is a 3/8x10
the shafts all play similar to me
the pin size for the shaft i dont think you can tell the difference
im also of the beleif that most people CANNOT tell what type of joint there is in a blind test
edit at first i thought you were taliking about the shafts.....:o:o
i dont beleive you can tell joint differences

I've got a ob classic hits great better then most I've had and I've had lots of cues and shafts too me has nice firm crisp it L.D of course took while too get hang of it but it inproved my game it will put smile on ur face

I have an OB121 with two shafts: OB1 with the original Everest tip, and an OBClassic with a Kamui Black SS. They both play very well and I just choose which one I'm going to use by how I'm feeling that day (the OB1 is a softer shaft than the Classic, but has a firmer tip on it).

I'll probably put a Kamui Black SS on the OB1 at some point, although I'm not in a rush to do it because the Everest plays fine.

They both have OB standard 3/8 x 10 joint.
