Looking forward to this event and checking out this room for the first time...only 2 more weeks!

This wpba $25 fee is a complete joke.....Why are you making people pay this? And whom really cares about the wpba, they wont even be recognized next year. They got what a whole 2 stops this year? But yet all kinds of smaller tours are paying them? Why? Whats the benifit?

The WPBA fee is a requirement for regional tours associated with the WPBA qualifying system. The top players from each regional tour participate in the Regional Tour Championships, which was held this past weekend. The WPBA is currently reviewing the benefits involved with this additional fee.

I'm very tempted to come to this stop to check out Casper's. The ladies are always fun to hang with too!

I'd imagine that to be sanctioned by the WPBA, they are required to assess the fee. Many ladies play the regional tours as a step towards playing in the WPBA. I think if you have a beef with the fee, you'd need to take it up with the WPBA and not bash the longest running women's regional tour.

Edit: Also, from the OB Cues Tour website, it appears you can elect not to pay the fee if you don't want to do anything with the WPBA.

I couldn't remember if we had the official word yet on that fee being optional.

We hope you do come down and hang out with us, as you know, we always try to make the event as fun as possible!!

I'm really thinking about it, mainly because I haven't seen a 6x12 snooker table in about 9 years! The view is also supposed to be nice and I have a cousin that lives in Houston I could visit. Two weeks away!

The fee used to be optional.... is it really optional again? Last year we had no choice - everyone had to pay it. They changed that rule in one year? Or was that a carry over from the previous website that I never changed?

One of the best poolrooms in the country combined with my favorite girls on some good tables..... that's a no brainer! Hope there's a great turnout! Gotta check the schedule before I know if I can come down and heckle V and spectate or not.

It should be optional, thats my whole point. Noone needs to be forced to pay into the scam of the wpba, which is'nt really a tour now anyhow...How do u call yourself a tour with 2 stops? All regional tours should cease paying this scam anyhow......Just do the math of what alls paid in, and what they gave out this weekend and see how it adds up.........Complete joke.........Making this fee mandatory is only gonna hurt the regional tours over time.....

KantmakAball -

The purpose of OB Cues Ladies 9-Ball Tour is to allow women to reach their goal of playing professional level pool, which includes a way to reach the WPBA. As a regional qualifying tour associated with the WPBA, we follow the standards they pass down.

They recently made the decision to once again make the fee optional. However, if you opt not to pay the fee, you are ineligible for the Regional Tour Championships. Also, the number of players that have paid the fees will affect the total number of spots given to each tour for the event. For our players that have already paid, they will have an option to receive a refund at the next event.

If you have any more questions on this fee, please feel free to reach out to the WPBA with your concerns.

Thanks,
Tara

Woohoo! Tournament is almost here! Can't wait. I've heard a lot of great things about Casper's.
