OB Pro+ or Mezz wx900?

Hi!

Has anyone tested both shafts in depth? Looks like OB shafts have been noticeable improved and have a similar construction as Mezz shafts. I have now an OB Classic and love the feeling and its performance (I broke it in an accident), but I need something with less squirt (I have been trying a Z2 for a while and that's what I need, no problem with 11.75 tip).
 
I thought the old ob 2 was superior to the mezz. The ob 2+ is a step up from that. I tried both as well as the Z2. My everyday shaft is now the ob 2+. Of course all of this is subjective and I feel mezz and Predator make a quality product.
 
I'm biased for the Mezz WX900...Love it with my Medium Hard Kitech tips even more. I just had an issue resolved from Mezz regarding one of the very first to reach the US shores that I bought right at a year ago. Sent it in... they replaced the shaft as they stand behind their word.

I shoot with a Mezz WX900 and have done so for 9 months now.
I have not tried the new OB Pro+ shaft. But the old OB Pro felt dead and muted compared to the Mezz shaft.
The new OB shafts looks very different, so they might play very different too?

Did you try an OB shaft with a wooden ferrule or a white ferrule?

Both. The wooden ferrule ones felt "softer" the sound the old OB shafts made was very different to a Maple shaft or Mezz WX900.
I haven`t seen any of the new OB shafts in Norway yet, so I can`t comment on those.
 
In the OB, is there any difference between the Black Collar and the Stitch Ring joints or is it only esthetical? I would use it with a 3/8x10 McDermott

Yes, the wooden ferrule shafts hit very soft and the white ferrules shafts hit firmer.

The plus shafts should be arriving in Norway now as both of our dealers there either have them on order or have already received them.

No difference other than looks. The stitch ring was designed primarily to match to the playing cues that we make but a plain black collar will work just as well on our cues as will a stitch collar work just as well on a McDermott.
 
I'm happy with the OB classic plus. The only unfortunate thing is that ob does not offer a XL version of the Classic pro plus (12mm or 12.5mm ) or a smaller version of the classic (12.5mm or 12.25mm).

You are right in that the OB Pro+ (formerly known as the Classic Pro) is not available in a size bigger than 11.75mm (you wanted 12mm or 12.5mm). However, if you want a bigger version of the OB Pro+ then I would like to suggest the following:

We can do a smaller version of the Classic+ which should be meet your needs perfectly. The standard for the Classic+ is 12.75mm but you can get 12.5mm or 12.25mm for no additional charge.

I've played with both, and they both play wonderfully; but with my mezz shaft I can jump with a full cue. Also the mezz plays a little firmer. Either one Is a great choice.

I did not know about these options when I bought the shaft. Are these options only available for shafts which come directly from OB site ? I bought my shaft from one of your dealer.
