Any cue makers out there have any discarded butts or other sources of exotic woods they could use to make me a really nice walking stick at a reasonable price?
 
That's going to be pretty tough considering the length that is required... most of us have a use for 30" lengths of wood and rarely have a piece that is unusable or considered scrap.

I can build you one if you like... I have made a couple od canes in the past for locals and turned out real nice... I attach a straight grip handle because I do not have the means to contort a bend the wood as in traditional cane handles...

FYI: I installed a quick release handle in one cane that concealed a 10" polished stainless steel spike made from a 5/16 rod attached to the grip for personal protection... it was a nice touch and the customer loved it ! "it also balanced out the weight too !
