I posted this in the "for sale" section but thought this might be a better place.

I don't know why I bought this but I doubt now I will ever have a cue made for me so this is doing me no good and it needs to be used by someone.

It's a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 15 inch piece of "old growth" Birdseye Maple that was sank on it's way to the mill 160 years ago and recovered from 180 feet of water in Georgian Bay.

Very nice piece of wood. It will make a beautiful forearm or several nice butts.

The first person who wants to send me $65 Paypal gets it. I'll pay the shipping.

Submerged Wood

Aesthetically it is just an average piece of Bird's Eye Maple. The fact that it was submerged for 160 years does not increase its value because the enzimes that attack the wood remove the woods strength. I don't believe this wood is suitable for cuemaking and many other cuemakers have found out this fact the hard way. I can buy much better figured wood from a half dozen wood suppliers at 1/4 the cost of $60.00.

Just my opinion.

Yea, it doesn't really matter to me. I'm not a cue maker and if no one wants it, I'll just hang on to it.

But if anyone wants it, just PM me.
