Old National Snooker table

Just got a chance to take a few pictures at a local room here in town will we are redoing their tables. I will get some pics of how tight the pockets are on the monster tommorrow. Think it is tough to play on? Just as tough as it is recovering this beast! Not too often you gotta put cloth on 6 foot long rail!

We have 4 Dufferin snooker tables in out pool hall, now they have some tight pockets. As for recovering them, have fun, they are a pain in the ass. It's a pain getting the direction of the nap in the cloth going the right way in the rails. Nice pic's thanks for sharing.

Jeesh, now you find a National table.
I asked you about a National 9 foot table this one guy was giving away here for $750.
Looks like a quality table. They are out of business though. I could not find anyone who knew about the National tables.

I don't think the dude that owns this table would ever part with it!

Here are some pics of the pockets.........

Sometimes you find things wrote under rails or on slates......you never know what they were doing the times before when they have recovered a table. Some funny things, some bad things.....you never know.

I found this under a rail of a table today.....the funny part is I know who wrote it and who James is....lol! They did these tables last. Here is what was wrote..........I blacked out the last 4 letter word, but I think ya can figure it out.....LOL!

Staple Marks

I noticed all those staple marks under there, it looks pretty worn out! Do these pieces have to be replaced ever? Once they have been stapled to many times and a staple wont stick in what do you do to fix it?

Those tables have been recovered a few too many times! lol

I guess you could repair them if you wanted to put the time into it. They are about to the point of needing something done. Those old Gold Crowns have had many hours of pool hall play for close to 40 years! They really need some repairs. I think they will be overhauled by the owner of the room before he covers them again....I hope! lol

If they were mine I am not sure what I would do to solve it. I guess one thing would be to use a router and cut a groove out........and replace it. I really haven't put much thought in what I would do if I had to repair that. I have seen some bar table rails that have been ate up with staple holes...someone used a wood filler type material and tried to repair it that way. That seemed to break away and was way too brittle.
