Old pool table cloth

Many folks throw away old pool table cloth. I have several work benches in my garage and barn that are now covered with old washed cloth. I like the way it keeps a finished look in these areas. Anyone else have uses for old cloth?

I'm guessing it would make really great weed barrier in the garden. Landscaping fabric.

Seriously, with it's wool/synthetic blend, I'm surprised that people who make those expensive and fancy quilts aren't clamoring for it..

They cover the poker/gin tables with the old billiard cloth at the pool hall.

Follow up to the Christmas stockings... Here's one of six we made with plenty of cloth left over from a 4.5 x 9 bed cloth piece. The cloth was still in really good shape and the only reason it was removed is because I sold the table due to divorce and the new owner wanted new cloth. The playing surface had much more chalk dust than I realized so we used the underside for the outsides of the stockings.

Also, if you've never handled it on its own, I cannot stress enough how incredibly heavy and strong this cloth is (Simonis 860.) I used to half way joke with my girlfriend that I'd like a pair of shorts or "around the house" pants made out of it. But, holy hell, after messing around with it I can't help but think any kind of clothing other than maybe a vest would be insanely hot and uncomfortable. But if you could get it nice an clean, it probably would make an incredible throw or couch blanket with minimal sewing.
