Old Schon Cue

This early 80's Schon was my personal playing cue in part of the 80's before I started building cues. It has the old brown joint collars and has several extra shafts. The guy who originally had it built wanted to try every shaft from 12 to 13.5 in 1/4 mm increments. It even has a shorter masse shaft. I used the insides of a couple of cheap cases to build the wood and brass case so I could carry it all. Danny Tibbits changed the butt plate and inlaid a couple of silver crosses into the butt plate.

Cueman......so you know Danny Tibbits.........how cool......do you happen to own one of his cues too?

Why take a chance buying a shoe that doesn't fit when you can just buy every size available? I like that guys style and it looks like a very nice cue

Is that a special order "R"?
I don't know if I would call it special order but the original owner did order it straight from Schon. You notice the joint rings are brown stitch which places it very early Schon. I am the third owner. But I know both owners before me.

Brown stitch should place it as an S series which predates the R series.

I am now selling my collection off a little at a time if anyone is interested in this one or others. I will listen to offers.

why not just list with prices like everyone else on here. 'offers only' sales are kinda frowned on.

Most of the shafts on this cue have the old Micarta Ferrules. With 6 shafts with brown stitch rings, I would say the shafts alone are worth over $1500. So $4000 for the cue with all shafts and case doesn't seem out of line. Am I wrong?
Nope…..that’s a lot of shafts and as long as the shafts don’t lift or wobble, it adds quite a bit of value as noted.
Do you still have a Tibbits cue in your collection? Are you considering letting that cue go if you still have it?

Just sold the Tibbits several weeks ago.
