Old shaft?

I own a older Viking cue, (1975, 76 vintage). It's value at best is roughly $100 but it's straight and has a solid hit and feel. I don't think I could find a cue that cheap that hits as well.
Back when I bought the cue I ordered a 13.75 mm and a 14 mm shaft. It was the fashion back in the early 70's. I want to have one shaft turned down to 13 mm. I think it would be a good player or break cue plus my thinking is the shaft, wood is well seasoned.

Any thoughts?

as a player myself I wouldnt turn one down to use as a break cue(bigger is better)!!!but "IF" you do it wouldnt hurt a thing

Large shafts work okay breaking in 9 ball but playing 8 ball it's hard to put any english on the CB.

Thanks for the reply.

If you plan to play with it then by all means turn it down to where you can shoot well with it.
