Older McDermott Suggestions

I have an old McDermott cue that has been in the family for a really long time. My brother didn't take very good care of it and I want to make it look as good as I can. Don't know if you can tell from the picture, but the finish was very easily peeled right off of the plastic at the bottom of the butt. Where do I go from here? Above the wrap still looks pretty ok. Below the wrap has several cracks in the finish and it appears to go straight through to the stain. Would like to keep the 8 ball intact if possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A good portion of McDermott cues finished over stain have this problem. The finish did not bond. McDermott is aware of it. Send it to them.

Ended up sending it to McDermott for a refinish.
