Olhausen Accufast??

I'm looking at some used Olhausens..

Is there a way to tell if the table has accufast rails..

Dave
Not for sure, unless you slit the underside of the rail cloth and see if the Accu-fast logo is on the underside of the cushions. I would assume if they are Olhausen's they should be Accu-fast cushions. If it's a used older Olhausen table, it doesn't necessarily mean the cushions are still good just because they are Accu-fast, but you should be able to tell if the cushions are still good just by rolling balls on the table.

This is from Glen, aka RKC, hope this helps.
"Measure the thickness of your rails, if they're 1 1/2" thick, then you need accufast cushions".

I would guess that if an Olhausen table was made within the last 25 years it would come standard with the Accu-fast cushions (K-66 profile). According to their website that is the only option they offer.

In that case I think I would revert to what Glen has stated before, and simply measure the rail height to determine whether it's an Accu-fast equipped table or not.

To clarify, by thickness of rails do you mean measuring the thickness of the cushion rubber - on the top of the cushion rubber from where it meets the subrail to the point of the cushion the balls hit against? FYI, that measurement on Artemis K66 cushion rubber is 1-1/4".

No, not the subrail, but the vertical distance from the top of the rail cap to the slate. On a curved rail cap like a GC that would be the point that meets the featherstrip. At least that's how I interpreted Glen's explanation...maybe he will chime in and clarify that for us. On my Anniversary that dimension is 1-3/4", which tends to match better with the K-55 profile like the Artemis and Superspeed cushions. Artemis cushions Intercontinental No. 66 are actually a K-55 profile, I noticed you had them listed as a K-66, and I just wanted to clarify. This link below will help explain that as well.

Here is a link that has a cutaway of a rail that shows that dimension Glen refers to as 1-5/8" for a K-66 profile, and it also shows the typical dimension for a K-55 as 1-3/4". I suppose the Olhausen tables use a slightly thinner rail thickness than the typical K-66 rail.

I don't neccesarily care for olhausen tables in gener but, I've yet to see accufast cushions go bad and I've seen ALOT of olhausen tables. Maybe its coincidence that I've never saw a accufast go bad.

I think olhausen went with accufast in early 90's.
