Olhausen Augusta vs Eclipse

I was quoted the following for 4-5 year old floor model Olhausens:

1,799 - choice of one table: Augusta or 3 different Eclipse tables
345 - move / installation
299 - upgrade to Simonis cloth

As mentioned, the tables are all former floor models that have been sitting in a warehouse for a few years since the dealer (Danny Veghs) stopped selling Olhausens.

The Augusta is solid oak and the Eclipse tables are all different finishes of solid tulipwood. The Augusta is clearly higher quality with wider rails, pearl sightings and oak versus a softer tulipwood. However, I personally think the Eclipse looks a better.

Anyhow, is the oak Augusta going to be that much more durable than the tulipwood Eclipses? Are the general numbers of the quote decent? Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

HomerJay... I'm also from Cleveland. I also bought my first table from Danny Vegh. Are these tables 4x8's? My advice would be....explore all your options. I watch craigslist often and see some great tables go for a song.....whatever you buy is probably going to be professionally moved and setup....so buying used and locally shouldn't be an issue. I have the number of a great mechanic who moves and sets up tables if you need it.

Something else to consider....if you are limited to an 8 footer and like to play on 9 footers...be patient and find an extended 8 footer (46x92) as opposed to 44x88.

One last thing.. I prefer the Tupilwood in the tables you posted. Olhausen makes a great table. I think their should be enough wiggle room to put the Simonis on without charging you an extra fee. I think Tournament Blue Simonis would look gorgeous on the Tupilwood table...Good luck with your decision.
