Olhausen conversion from pocket to carom

Need your opinion. I have an 4.5 x 8.5 foot Olhausen pocket table. I want to convert it to carom. Called Olhausen and they said they can replace the
rail and cushions. I could not find pocket inserts after years of searching. The factory tells me they do this all the time. Still have alot of questions about type of cushions used, height etc..... The table is relatively small as compared to the 5x10. I have played carom billiards since I was a child and have preferred this game over pool but have children (now left home!!) who prefer the other. Anybody you
know has done this particular conversion with Olhausen?? Thanks for your
time. I could possibly squeeze in a 9 foot table but the expense would be great.

Well its better to convert your table with new rails because now you can still have the old ones so you can have 2 tables when you sell or get bored.. Plus the plugs don't make a continuos rail and when the ball hits the part where they join it skids off which is not what you need playing billiards.. Just tell them what size ball you want to play with and they will take care of it for you. Pick a nice cloth like Basalt and now you can play billiards and pool later if you change back to pool later. Its too bad Brunswick doesn't do that. Good Luck
