Olhausen Question

I'm not at all familiar with Olhausen tables but my son-in-law has an 8' Olhausen, Americana II, I believe. His table has very tight pockets which are roughly 4 1/2" and taper down to ~4". Is this standard for Olhausens?

I have never seen an Olhausen with tight pockets. Odds are during a recover someone installed a bunch of shims

This is a new table delivered with no modifications.
