Ok Now i know this is a stupid Thing to say or ask but i just gotta ask it lol.

I dont understand the concept of all the english, i know that when u hit the cuball left of center it transfers right spin onto the object ball and when u hit a straight in it brings the ball back but i think its more of the bottom and left or bottom and right or top right and top left that i dont fully uderstand

im also including a link with a drill and i need to know the exacts on how to do it because i dont understand anything anymore i think im going nuts lol

with the angle that the balls are in straight bottom should work. Best way to know is to go hit balls.

Try hitting the same shot with different english and see what happens.

ok

someone back this up for me. what you need to do if you don't seem to understand it, is go to the pool room and try different things different ways. for example...set up a straight shot into the corner pocket about mid table. try follow and draw first to get the feel of each and see where the cue goes in relation to the object ball. knowing that sidespin transfers, you'll have to compensate slightly to use it. only you can figure this out, us telling you what will probably happen will do you not much good....after all, its you who will be doing it, so you have to find what works for you. now, I'm no instructor or anything, but have given many lessons to the unknowing...this is a subject that you really have to figure out for yourself. I'm not saying noone will be able to HELP by telling you how the shot should be tried in order to get the cueball in line for the next shot, but am saying that the only one who can actually figure it out...is you. spin relates to what kind of equipment you are using too. your shaft and tip are CRUCIAL to this, but you'll figure it out in the end. take your time with it, it'll come. I've done and seen shots you would never in a million years think could go, but they can...due mainly to english and how it is applied. there are right and wrong ways to apply english...but I'm sure you know that already. another factor would be keeping your "shooting" arm in line. thats a big deal also. you have to make sure of your fundamentals such as keeping your cue level, arm straight, stance steady, etc. there is really too much involved to tell you here, but Scott Lee is an instructor who can probably help you with your fundamentals and get you on the right track. pm me and keep me informed as to your progress, and I'll try to help you if you want. good luck, Jeff

i think you crossed that verge. :)

there's always going to be an argument about transfering english. and hitting the cb "straight" doesn't bring it back.

IMO you should stay within the vertical axis (like stun, follow, and draw) until you can proficiently play the game. I know it's really difficult for beginners to avoid using side english because it's so tempting and does some very interesting things. But in the long run, it would be best to learn how to play without english before using excess amounts of english and not knowing what you are doing. Maybe you should get one of Robert Bryne's books on pool, they cover pretty much every aspect of the game in good enough detail.
