One Pocket With Bucktooth Again

Hey fellow A'zer's,

Just felt like sharing another moment that I'll probably remember for the rest of my life. Usually I play one pocket with Bucktooth once a week to try to step up my game. At first, if you refer to my older post, I got slaughtered by him. Eventually my game progressed as I kept playing him. Well now, for some reason whether it be My game Jumping or his game decreasing, I actually took money from him today. Even though it was only $40 it felt like a million. I just couldn't miss. My safeties were on and I was making ridiculous and accidental shots =). I don't know if luck was on my side today, but it felt great. You know how you get at that comfort level when you play a person enough times, well i'm at that point where i'm used to playing with him and know what to expect in measures of competition. Not to call him a slouch or anything, but his shot making is what it used to be ( most likely due to his old age), but he's still got his safeties. Anyhow, we were playing for $10 a game and for a while it was going back and forth with me getting ahead occasionally and finally we both got tired after playing for 6 hours and just called it a night. Me winning was what felt most gratifying. The money really doesn't matter to me, just that fact that I was able to beat a legend felt great. I just hope he's around for a while longer so I can have more great memories like this. Anyhow, just felt like sharing my memories and love for this sport again.

While some of the younger AZ members may not know who Richard Cook (Bucktooth) is, all of us old-times know of him, and he is indeed a legendary player & gambling. And it must be especially sweet to beat him after having lost to him. Here's a shot of Bucktooth taken at the 1980 Las Vegas Open.
