Anyone got an ongoing bet from your pool hall? A friend that has been the bartender at the local pool hall for 16-17 years and I have had a standing bet for almost that entire time.
It all started one evening he was working and I was at home. We were hit with a pretty good size earthquake( we get lots of earthquakes in Anchorage). It was big enough to where he had moved from behind the bar to a safer spot where he would not get hit from falling bottles which also happened to be near the phone. As the ground was still shaking I phoned the pool hall, he answered and all I said was “what’s the line?” without hesitation he knew who I was and what I was asking for. He replied “5.9" I said “under” he said “bet”. He had set a near perfect line the first try as the quake turned out to be 6.0 ...he wins. Over the years whenever either one of us feels an earthquake 24/7 we call the other and take turns setting the line. Any moment there is the potential for action it’s all up to mother nature.
