Opinion of value Schuler Cue

I have a pretty standard 3C cue, Schuler Babinga wood, no points linen wrap with a euro taper and american taper billiards shafts. This was bought right out of Ray's hop when he was alive back in 1995 or 96. It's in good shape, shafts are both a little nicked up and one ding on the butt. The butt is perfect except for the one 1/8" ding. Just curious... I paid $300 for it back then new and purchased a used American taper shaft about year later for $80. Are the original Schuler cues going up in value?

There has always been a strong following for Schuler cues. The company continued building them after Mr. Schuler passed and costs were kept fairly stable.

Your cue is an original Ray, rather than an SLC version, so it will have more collector appeal in my opinion. Some top pros like Jose Parica and Jeremy Johnes have played superbly with Schuler cues, adding to the brand's appeal.

My opinion is that with rare exception, the market these cues target is the buyer of an affordable superior playing cue. Collector premiums are less common in my experience. The demand for Schuler cues has been pretty steady though. You should be able to recoup your full investment plus a small profit but I wouldn't expect too much more.

appreciate that I was thinking the same, We have one place for 120 miles with decent carom tables and they are getting ready to shut the doors in the next few months. I may sell it or just the shafts and keep the butt as any schuler cue shaft will fit.
