Opinions about Russ Espiritu cues? Is he making good quality cues?

I am interested to read some opinions about your thoughts about Russ Espiritu.

He has been building cues for a long time (I am not sure how long, but maybe since the 80's I am guessing?), and he has built some really amazing looking cues over the years.

I am curious why his cues are so underrated?

Is it maybe because the amount of cues he builds per year, and his cues might be considered more of a production cue (maybe in the same way that Jacoby cues are considered to be production cues)?

Speaking of Jacoby, how would you compare the quality of Espiritu cues to the quality of Jacoby cues, and are the 2 about in the same league (value wise on the used market)?

I hope that was not an offensive question to ask opinions about.

Is Espiritu building a very good quality cue these days (compared to the quality of the cues he made in the 90's for example)?

I always loved his cues since I was a kid back in the 90's, and just curious if the quality of his cues has declined, or maybe gotten better (or stayed about the same), and what you think the quality of his cues are in general (compared to other known cue makers out there, that build cues at about the same price range)?

Thanks for any thoughts about what I asked about above.

Bump for any thoughts about his cues? Just curious what you guys think. Thanks.
Very underrated cue maker. Russ's cues play great look great. If I'm not mistaken he is in the cue maker Hal of fame too....jmho

Beautiful cues and a nice guy. I stand around at nationals every year and kick tires at his both. Last year I almost bought one but he was sold out before I was ready to pull the trigger. Don't wait or all you'll have are memories of the cue you could have owned.

I've bought a new Espiritu in 2000 for $1,200 and love it. Has a great hit and is a beautiful cue. Have never understood why they don't command more money. I have hit with original Jerry Franklin Southwest Cues and I think my Espiritu is a much better cue...overall hit and design.

The most beautiful cue I ever owned (and one of the most beautiful cues that I have ever seen) was an Espiritu that I had back in 2008. It was so nice that it is really hard to describe what it looked like, and I wish I still had pictures of the cue (from before I auctioned it off on ebay). It had 4 points with like 5 or 6 super nice veneers that went almost up to where the joint is at, and it had many ivory inlays in the points and in the butt. It had an ivory joint (with a radial pin), and an ivory butt. It had 2 shafts with ivory ferrules and it had matching joint protectors with ivory in them to match the ivory ring work that was in the cue at A B C & D sections of the cue. It has been so long ago, that it is hard to remember what the cue really looked like, but the points and veneers were amazing and super fancy. It got a lot of compliments and envy at the pool hall. I have always regretted selling the cue. I only got $850 out of the cue, and I imagine the cue retailed for at least $1500 (maybe more, because I have never seen a nicer looking Espiritu, and that is saying a lot I think).
