Origin of regulation table.

Before world war 2, most all pool tables in northern states were 5'x10' and southern states used 4'x8' tables. After world war 2, another war occurred in the pool world. What table would be used for champinships. A compromise settled the issue. Thus, the birth of the 4 1/2' x 9' table.

By True definition, a regulation table is "any table that is twice as long as it is wide, regardless of size".

the reason why we went from 10 foot to 9 is because the game had too many misses on a ten foot, causing auidence fatigue.
