There is supposed to be a write up about the event at insidepoolmag.com but it seems their web site is down.
Dan Anderson won the event.
Marco Marquez and Ike Runnels who were the favorites lost in the 1st rounds and hit the losers bracket. Ike was eliminated in his next match but Marco whent on to take 4th place. The event had 52 players in it with a total of 7 Women and Junior players that took advantage of the free entries offered to them on the Viking Tour (
http://www.vikingcue.com/pages/9ball/032504.html). Scott Cohen took third and Henry Brodt placed 2nd. The event paid 16 places.
On a very interesting side note. Dan Anderson bought himself for the minimum bid in the player auction for only $10. According to the stats his odds of winning the event were 40 to 1 against him.
PRO-TYME Classic Billiards (
http://www.protymebilliards.com) as truly a players paradise. The tables were in excellent condition and the room itself is phenominal. Pro-Tyme also had an Expresso Bar and the coffee is the best I ever had. I Highly recommend Pro-Tyme to everyone. If you ever get the chance make sure you stop by and check out this rooom. It was completely worthy of its award from Billiards Digest. The owner, Ed Hiller was a very gracious host and I thank him for his efforts in bringing the Viking Tour to his location.
Next week the Viking Tour will be at Chris' Cue-Phoria in River Grove, IL.
