Ottawa

a buddy was telling me about a place there called the elkhouse or elmhouse or something like that. said it wasnt that great of a place to play but lot of action

I've played at the broken cue once or twice while visiting friends.. thew one night looked like I might have been able to get a little action if i had of broguht my stick with me

Not sure if you are still in the area, but if you are let me know. I'm sure I can find a few guys around the area. Send a PM. If I'm guessing right, I think you may have already played a bit at Broken Cue.

I am always up for action. Contact either me or Snorks (he is on here more than I am). I am at Greenbank Broken Cue every Tuesday night (league) so you can find me there. Ask for Jason Munro. They will show you who I am.

I play 8, 9, 10 ball.

AND! Jason is a good dude!

Shhhh! You will ruin my perfectly good rep as a genuine ass! ;)

Thanks though. Hope you make it up here sometime, or that I can get down your way eventually. We should match up a bit. Should be fun.

havent been up that way in ages tho..my buddy that lived there moved to calgary

Here is the run down of the rooms here in Ottawa and prospect of action:

East end:

Dooly's
- Gladwin Cres.
- approx. 40 Palason tables and Simonis 860.
- best tables in general for Ottawa
- hot servers
- great environment
- no gamblers
- $12/hr

Central:

Cue 'N Cushion Billiards
- Bank Street
- old style pool room
- 1 snooker table, maybe ten 9 footers and barboxes (Brunswick/Black Crown)
- no hot servers
- few if any gamblers
- variable rates ($9/hr for 2 players)

Orange Monkey
- City Center
- ten 9 footers and 6 very nice snooker tables (Palason/Dufferin)
- the place to play snooker in the city
- no hot servers
- little action
- $7/hr (was last I was in)

West end:

Tailgators
- Merivale Mall
- previously Le Skratch
- hot servers, bad service
- great burgers
- worst tables in Canada (Canada Billiard)
- little action
- $12/hr

Greenbank Broken Cue
- Greenbank one block north of Hunt Club
- 4 Black Crowns and a ton of barboxes (not very good condition)
- hot servers
- best league in the city
- strongest players with best chance of action
- $10/hr

Kanata Q
- Hazeldean Rd,
- 3 types of tables and 1 snooker table with some barboxes
- fastest tables in the city, pretty good shape.
- no hot servers
- medium action
- good rates.

As well there are rooms just across into Quebec less than 15 minutes from downtown. The two Terminus' have very well maintained Black Crowns and lots of them with decent to hot servers. Club Billiard has decent tables with a decent chance for action.

I was at the Greenbank Broken Cue a little over a week ago and the majority of the time it was only the bartender(he might have been the owner)....last time i go in around noon lol

You won't find many people around there until about 7pm. It gets busier on the weekends, but you won't find many good players until the evening.
