Greetings,
Last year I set out on a mission to locate and acquire a Palmer Model 'D' to correct an error from my youth which resulted in missing out on one for cheap.
Anyway, that's another story. During my search I actually found 2 terrific examples of this cue stick. Chris Tate was kind enough to offer me one from his collection, and then, almost immediately after consummating that transaction, one came up on e-bay, which I also acquired.
The Tate Model 'D':
e-bay Model 'D':
The reason I'm posting about these cues now is that I wanted to show off the two matching shafts that Ryan Theewen (Mueller's) made for me. I decided to keep the e-bay cue (I may, eventually, sell the Model 'D' I purchased from Chris), and so that is the cue I sent to Ryan to match:
The new ones are the two on the right. These are just outstanding reproductions. They match the original in every way. I asked for a specific taper, which Ryan reproduced for me, and this cue now plays as well as any cue I have.
I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks, Ryan.
