Unless she has changed very recently, she uses Universal playing ,break and jump cues. And case too by the way.

From a distance the Universal break cue looks a lot like the BK2. It has a black handle with a red and gold flame looking design on it.

Universal is very popular with pros and other serious players in China.

I looked like a Predator but could have been a Universal. The compnay that makes Predator also makes the Universal cues so it's quite possible that it's "Universal's" version of the Predator. Her playing cue looked and sounded like a SouthWest.

yeah, i thought it was a SW too, based on the points and ringwork. although i did not know for sure. Can anyone confirm? thanks

According to Lao Pan (her father) at 4pm today Shanghai time she has changed her playing cue. It is a custom cue made by a private cue maker in Taiwan. I don't know who.

Also, he said that her break cue is a Universal.

Can you ask her father whether the cue is made by Rays or not? Thanks in advance.
The Chinese name for Rays cue is sound like TenRo.

When I get a chance I will or if I see Zeng Zhong Hao, I'll ask him. He probably arranged it and may know better than her father exactly where it came from. Supposedly it has no logo on it at all.

By the way, Zeng is a helluva player too. I've seen him play in a couple tournaments here in Shanghai and he is tough. He finished 3/4 in the Shanghai 9 ball open this year after losing a close match to Chao Fong Pang in the semi finals. Nice guy too.

In violent disagreement with what I understood Mr. Pan to tell me the other day, Pan Xiao Ting is defintely breaking with a Predator BK2.

Her playing cue, as reported, is a Taiwan cue and has no logo or identifying marks on it at all that I could see. Zeng is playing with almost exactly the same cue. I didn't really dig into who the cue maker was.

Interestingly enough, when I congratulated Xiao Ting on her great play she commented that she was happy and fortunate to have won, but was not satisfied with her level of play, especially in the finals.

Finally settled the issue of PXT's playing cue this afternoon.

The cue is a Goufa cue from Taiwan with a Moori tip. Evidently it is not an especially expensive custom cue because many of the pool students in her father's pool room are playing with the same cue. I shot with one of their cues for a while the afternoon and it was sweet.

People described her cue as looking like a SW, John Barton said it sounded like a SW and the way she played, if a SW would make her play any better everybody is in trouble. There was a long thread a few weeks ago about Chinese cues and John made the statement that if wanted, the Chinese could make a cue that looked and played like a SW for few hundred $. Maybe this is it.

I've got one coming sometime in the next couple weeks so I'll report on it again after I play with it some.

On another subject, in typical Chinese fashion, the Shanghai and China Billiard Association had a celebration dinner for her this afternoon. The picture below is from that dinner.

I have to say that XTP never looked happy during her ordeal to get on the WPBA and her first Tournaments in the States. Now is the last few pictures, i see a genuiine smile and happiness. I am glad for her.

I'm 99% sure she plays with a Universal. At least that's the information I got from your part of the world, John.

Joey-

In the past she was sponsored by and playing with Universal. Now her break cue is definitely a
BK2 and playing cue is Kaofa.

She has changed to Kaofa in the past few months. I don't know what led to the change or exactly when it happened.
