Here are a few pictures of my Paul Mottey cue. This cue was made in 2002 and is extremely well crafted. Nice figuring in the snakewood points and butt sleeve. Very clean veneer work and nice complimenting colors.

I owned that Mottey cue not too long ago and I thought it was one of the best playing cues i've ever owned (I used a predator 314 with a Moori III Slow tip when I owned it). My avatar shows a set of snake wood joint protectors that I bought to match that cue, but I never used them. I have a James White Hoppe style cue that I play with now that has a SS joint on it and there is a difference in the hit of ivory versus SS.

Chris,

The Mottey in the middle was my favorite and it was built for me by Paul. I ordered the cue and when I finally got it I didn't play with it. I just didn't feel comfortable using a cue that nice and I found that I would rather play with my James White Hoppe style cue. After giving it some thought I decided to sell the Mottey only because I wasn't using it to a buyer who could afford to add it to his collection and not worry about how much it cost. The places I go to play just aren't suited to playing with a cue like that.

just curious.. what does paul charge for a cue like that.. i never dealt with him directly.. i have a friend who does.. thats how i got mine... it was one he already made... there looks to be alot of ivory in it.. what kind of joint did it have? and what did the butt sleeve look like?

thanks..chris
