paypal problem tonight

I just won an auction for a cue and there saying the payment won't clear until the 12th WTF Iv'e been paying everthing without a problem till now I have have AM, Visa debit , checking, all confirmed , and plenty to back it up in the accounts , I could imagine what the seller is thinking right now! this shouldn't be,

did you send it to the seller to be removed from your checking account?

because if you sent a Echeck as they call it, they have to wait till the funds completly clear out of your account and are part of paypal...

thats why if i am not using a credit card to pay, i also have my visa check card and that works intant like a credit card and the funds come out of the same place like the echeck..

Yes, If you use your debt card it is deducted immediately and this doesn't happen. At least that has been my experience. Course I have had problems with Paypal as late and have not been able to use my account for a few months now...they may have changed something I am not aware of.

Thats what they said "echecking" , I used my checking account and not my debit-visa , or AM that really sucks Thanks for the info , can I change it or will it all get screwed up, maybe i'll just leave it alone

i would leave it alone now.. because what may happen is if you cancel it now and they already started the process, the money may end up in your paypal account and take 3 additional days to withdraw back to your bank account.. i would just let it go.. tell the seller you selected that by accident and you have no problems waiting for them to ship after the funds are sent..

if you try and stop it now.. you may only give yourself more of a headache afterwards..

You can ask the seller to reject the payment and do an instance payment ... depending of the amount, the seller might prefer getting an e-check as the fee is only $5 vs. close to 3%.
 
Don't sweat it! It only takes a couple of extra days. Even though the seller will be notified not to ship until payment clears, it would also be a good idea to drop them an email and explain the situation. I have been payed by echeck a few times. No biggy! It's still secured payment.
 
Actually, the Seller does not have the option of Accepting or Rejecting as long as the E-Check has a status of "Pending". UNLESS, he also provided an Unconfirmed Address, AND the Seller has their PayPal preferences set to choose each transaction individually when an Unconfirmed Address is used (Accept/Deny).
However, you still won't have access to the funds used for the E-Check. Those funds must still clear your bank (approx 3 biz days), then PayPal credits your PayPal account back - less their fees, of course. :p

Bottom line is that PayPal E-Checks really suck. They still "Hold" your funds for up to 4-business days, though it almost never takes that long for your account to be debited. So PayPal is actually making money on the "float", while your Seller waits 3-4 days.

Does it say anything in the upper left corner of your paypal account about renewing your credit card information or updating account info? When it says this, the default mode is echeck. Echecks are fine, it just takes a day or two longer. I wouldn't change it. Just tell the seller paypal did an "echeck" for some reason.

I don't believe paypal has ever done this before i think this has to be new I know i use to pick where the money should come from, anyway last night I was watching my auction and 2 others tried to grab it out from underneat me at the last minute so I guess I pulled the trigger to quick to pay after that and now the payment is pending I talked to the seller and he said he wasn't worried about it

2 of them tried to snacth it after the last minute mark;)
