The conveyor belt on my Performax 16/32 sander has come apart at the seam. I have tried using contact glue(wrap type) and super glue. No luck. Any suggestions please. The red tape that joins the piece is still in place.

I have a new one on order but am trying to get point material ready.

Placed a strip of gorilla tape across the bottom of the conveyor belt joint and carefully fitted the belt to it.

I then used the thick super glue to make lines about 3/4 inch apart all the way across the belt. I took another strip of the gorilla tape and placed it across the top of the belt where I had laid down the glue. I used two bricks to weight this joint down until the super glue hardened.

I turned on the conveyor belt and, so far, the repair is holding nicely. Next step is put some point squares on the belt and try to sand them.

I appreciate the suggestion and wonder why the heck I did not think of it, myself.
