I asked a computer-savvy friend about live-streaming local pool events and received this reply which might interest some other AZB-ers:

“People now don't need any special equipment or infrastructure to live-stream events, sports competitions, discussions, forums, etc. There's a free app called Periscope and you can stream any of these happenings using your phone provided that you're able to get a decent WiFi signal. Periscope works with iPhones but I don't know about Androids.”

Here’s a link to the Periscope website for anyone (like me) unfamiliar with this interesting app:

Periscope does work with Android, it's a cool app ... I like facebook live better for broadcasting ... imo FB live made it easier to share and save video without it being deleted automatically after a short time like Periscope. I haven't used Periscope since FB live was created, so I don't know how it has improved.

There is a broadcast time limit on FB... I can't remember the time, maybe 45 mins (I wanna believe it longer than this)???? I've seen tournament matches on FB. When time ran out they started a new broadcast. The good thing about FB live is that it saves to your timeline automatically once broadcast ends.
