Hey guys - I might need a little help setting up my new gold crown. I have heard that Dave Clayton is the best, but really pricy. Anyone know how to get ahold of him? Any other suggestions?

The last guy I used out of the paper, and he:

1.) Was over an hour late arriving at the location to pick up the table which seriously inconvieneced the previous owner.
2.) ran out of gas while moving the table to my house - which meant he couldn't finish the job that night.
3.) Chipped my slate pretty badly
4.) At the end said that the rate his boss quoted me for TOTAL labor was his HOURLY rate, and demanded an extra $300!! I had been very clear with his boss - I asked specificlly if that rate was hourly or total labor.

I told him I would have to ask my friends 'Smith' and 'Wesson' if they had any extra money, and then politely informed him it would be in his best interest to vacate the premisis immediatly.

AZB, kinda late but Ernesto Dominguez was there a week or two ago. He's a fine mechanic based on LA and is doing my table this weekend.
I'm sorry you had an idiot try to destroy your table and had the audacity to ask for a nickel.
I could swear a good table mechanic these days are hard to find.
Ernesto's backlog goes for months sometimes.

What did the guy charge you....or quote you. And for what..........Going and getting the table, moving it to your place, and setting it back up with new cloth or the old? Just curious what others get for the work. As for the mech you used........late might could be over looked ( but still looks bad ).....combined with the other problems is awhful! Some people don't realize that you should find somebody that knows what they are doing, because it is well worth the money. We had a moving company call for a quote to Disassemble move and set back up. They thought it was too high.......so they get some big strong guys and just move it all together. Then it cost them to get a new piece of slate for the middle one that broke, and repairs to the skirts they broke. Well worth the money to use somebody with a good rep, even if it cost alittle more........how much more is it really?
