Pin Striped Billiard Ball Set

Does anyone know any history on the billiard ball sets that stripes are pin striped? Also the solids have no numbers. I just got a vintage set and they seem a touch smaller than my new Aramith set, so thinking they are 56 mm European style.

Just wondering because I can't seem to find any info on them on the internet where they came from.

These remind me of the sportcraft balls (belgian made), where all the high balls are white/ivory with decal overlay.

Are you sure those are "vintage"? The solid ones and the 9 are very clean and without dings. The only thing that looks old are the stripes in the front and those could be just because they were not well made. The numbers should not rub off like that on a quality set unless it's very old.
 
I only cleaned 1-9 and the cue ball because I don't play 8, only 9. So the stripes are what they looked like when I got them, and the 1-9 is how they cleaned up.

However to add to that, I am don't know anything about them so they may not be vintage. Seller only knew that he got them in a garage sale years ago and doesn't have a pool table anymore so he sold them. I wanted them because of the solids having no numbers, especially when I only shoot 9 normally.

I was bidding on a Raschig set with the black and yellow 9 but lost out, it went way over what I wanted to pay anyway, guy would about getting them for around $460.
 
There is another set on Ebay, but solids have numbers. Seller doesn't have any info posted about them, I guess I could ask, buy now for $99.

Here is the info on the ones on sale now from the seller. Doesn't tell me what they are though...

"The colored balls measure 2 1/4 inches wide. These came from a older man who had a pool hall back in the 30's -40's."

Look identical to yours, if you look at how the numbers are almost worn off the stripes, they probably fully wore off the solids.

You did a great job cleaning up the balls, they look new.
 
Thanks, my next project is going to be to convert my car buffer into a ball cleaner :)

I would have thought there would have been a trace of the numbers on the solids. Main reason I bought them is because there were no numbers on the balls. Either way I am happy with them, they play really nice.

I am going to start hitting garage sales myself if that is where they came from.

Anyway if anyone see's anything on these, I would be interested to know where/what company they came from.
