Are you sure it's pinned and not just a machining relic from a crappy parting operation?
That makes more sense
Looking at the bottom of the pin it looks like it was damaged. the threads are a mangled mess. I wonder if for what ever reason like trying to remove it, trying to straighten it it got broken off then drilled pinned and called it a day. I does look pinned to me.
