I'll be in Dallas for a few days in Sept. and would welcome suggestions on places to play. I'll be staying at the Anatole and may have to use cabs, so distance may be a consideration. Thanks.

Nice hotel but the area around it is pretty rough. The closest place would be CJ's , everything else that I can think of is across town. If I think of any other places I'll post them for you.

Flied, there aren't any pool halls near downtown. Clicks on Marsh and on Skillman are pretty good, but they're both far from you.

Actually, if you let me know your dates in Dallas, I might be able to haul you around (if you're not too tall for my car ... ;)) and if I'm not tied up with work. Otherwise, I can try to point you to a nice hall.

CJ's would probably be the closest to you with some good competition. Pugsley's is not too far, but I'm not sure if anybody plays there as far as competition goes. If you don't fit in TD's car, let me know and I might be able to take you to a few places. Just shoot me a pm.

Lots of Places.

Whats up man. I have lived in the Dallas area for awhile and would be more than happy to take you around or back you, depending on how you play. CJ's isnt worth a s***t anymore. Actually it is now CJ's Cantina Palace. They got rid of alot of the nine's and put in bar boxes and built plywood walls to section some of it off. There is alot of action within twenty to twenty five min from downtown. Skillman is pretty hot on wednesday nights, just got through watching Incardona and Joey Barnes play some 500 dollar a game one pocket. Anyway, as you can see there are plenty of people from this area willing to help you out. Good luck when you get here.

I prefer Clicks. They used to have free pool from 11am to ? Don't know if they still do that.
I don't get to play much during the week, but on the weekends, its 11-6 for $5.00. Now THAT's a bargain! Less than 75 cents an hour for pool, sweet.

Hey flied: Bring your air conditioner with you. It's hot hot hot. Chances are you'll be to dehydrated to do much of anything.

td873: Ya can't beat Clicks if yer a serious pool player. You may also get lucky and see Dick Lane run some 14-1 racks. :)

I really appreciate everyone's responses and offers to play and/or provide transport. It now looks as though there's some question as to whether my trip is on. If it is I'll PM those of you who kindly offered to help.
