I will be in Flagstaff AZ on the week of the 5th of Feb. I did a search and all I found was Uptown Billiards on Leroux St.

Is that a good place to play? What about the rates and the equipment? Any good players to watch while im there?

Never played there --- but its a college town - Northern Arizona University so I would expect some college kids. Had a friend who owned a pool room in Flagstaff about 10-15 years ago (closed) - he said he had quite a few college kids come in.

Don't have the exact address but you can call there and get it I am sure. Looks like its on Beaver Street just south of W Santa Fe Ave by the railroad tracks. I live in Phoenix and went up there a couple of years ago to play some pool but for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place.

Where do you play in Phoenix? I liked Six Shooters (not too far away), but hear there is a new place (within last 4 years) up on 67th and Cactus - how is it (if you have been there)? Heard Metro was good - Diane Clayton runs a league from there so assume Dave plays there (Dave does a lot of the table set ups and recovers around town). Charleys was nice place too.

I mostly play at Metro and really like it there. My wife plays in the league there as well. I have played at Six Shooters quite a few times and I like it there too. I haven't played at the one on 67th and Cactus. Maybe we will go up there one night and I will let you know how it is. I think Dave is going to come over and fix our table for us pretty soon. One of my friends was supposed to give him my number last weekend at the AZ State all around tourney. I went 2 and out 8-7 and 7-5. Do you ever come to Phoenix?

Yes, was there for a couple weeks at Thanksgiving - relatives and lots of friends. Love where I am now, but I spent 55 years in Phoenix so will always be back. Maybe I will turn into a "snow bird".

Pool in Flagstaff

Last time I was there I played in a room off of N. San Francisco Street. Can't remember the name.

I grew up playing pool on the east side of phoenix, did not hear much about flagstaff except when the womens pro tour came around. you can check out players like scott frost, jimmy mendoza, andy scott, glenn bond or visit azpoolscene.com

Jack,

The place at 67th and Cactus is called the Silver Cue. It's not a bad place to play, as long as you don't mind younger kids and leave by 2100. They don't serve alcohol and the age limit is 18+ and at 2100 it is packed! The tables are well maintained and the staff is pretty good. Metro has one of the nicest rooms in town right now.

Thanks for the info on it. When I was in Phx at Thanksgiving, I drove by the Silver Cue and wanted to stop but didn't have the time - if I still lived in Glendale I would be there right now! Next time I am in Phoenix I need to stop by Metro - Diane keeps trying to get Dave out of town - they are suppose to visit me in Montana. Again, thanks
