I'm moving to Stamford in a month and was checking out what halls are in the area. I found Rack and Roll Billiards but their web site seems to be down. Is this place still in business? What other places are there and any additional details you have on weekly tournaments or leagues will be extremely helpful.

Thanks,

Sam

I'm not sure how close you are but Ivory Billiards has some of the best maintained tables anywhere (9foot and barbox). There is a tournament on Fridays at 7pm that usually gets between 20 and 30 people and another tournament on Wednesdays at 7. The Wednesday tournament gets less people but has better players.

Finally landed in Stamford. Looking for something within 30 minutes. Are there any places within 20 or 30 minutes of Stamford?

I lived there for 12 years, 84-96. You will like it, great places and only 50 minutes out of mid town. Realize that Fairfield county is affluent for the most part, so I would be very surprised for economic and demographic reasons if a good pool hall would work.

When I was there a place existed in DT Stamford north of the main town square. Look to the towns in NY towards the city and also in 30 minutes you are in the Bronx or Queens. Going north, Bridgeport but the same travel time you would do better towards NY.

Good luck!

BTW:
Colony , it is a bar in Stamford that serves one food item.....Great, outstanding, thin crust, tangy, Pizza. Regulars call it Jimmy and BoBo's. Since we moved in 96 I wanted my wife to go back, work there and lean the formula to make their pies!

Corner Pocket up in Orange has really nice tables

Never played at Yale Billards in the New Haven area but have friends that like it
