plainjane VS point cue

for playability does plainjane is different from point cue...if you were ask by your customer to build him a player cue...what is your prefer?

I like the look of points and Irish linen. PJs can be nice, but I prefer points and sometimes some simple ringwork to go with it. If the cue is structurally sound, it shouldn't make a lot of difference. Full splice cues (points or butterfly) are supposedly stiffer. Personal taste and ability has more to do with results than points vs PJ cue.
